Symbol on dash board. 10 plate E class
Discussion
I picked up a E class estate yesterday and there is a symbol on the dashboard that kind of looks like a coffe cup, anyone know?
Ah, a quick google revals my car is telling me to get a coffee. As I had one before I set off how do i stop it telling me to spend £3.00 on some crap coffee?

The symbol is not telling you to get a coffee now..it is showing that the driver monitoring function is enabled. The car will monitor the smoothness of your driving and the time you have been driving in one continuous period of time. Once you have driven for about 2 hours, or when you start consistently braking late, wandering out of your lane, or generally displaying what it thinks are characteristics relating to tiredness, you will see a message pop up in the central display between the speedo and the rev counter advising you to stop and rest.
You can disable the function using the menu screens in the Comand Module, but it has been a couple of years since I had my Merc and I can't remember the menu sequence to get to the option. The Handbook will tell you.

Attention assyst.
If the car thinks you need a break or senses you falling asleep at the wheel it will ping a message telling you to stop for a cuppa. It can be very disconcerting when you are feeling perfectly ok, driving along minding your own business and it pings. Very worrying for back seat passengers in the dark
It can be turned off.
