SL 230 Broken electric mirror switch

Goods morning.
I have just bought a 2007 SL 350 and unfortunately the electric mirror adjustment switch in the centre console is broken. There is a small "Plate" that fits on top of the switch mechanism which is missing. Unfortunately this little piece isn't available separately and the whole part is almost £400 (It also controls the roof switch etc...) I wondered if anybody had a broken unit that I could buy in order to get this little plate or knew of a used one to swap.
I have had a look on Ebay etc.. but the parts available are generally for a SL 500 with an "ABC" button. Mine doesn't have an "ABC" button but would need a folding mirrors button f I am to go down that route. Would much rather try and find the little plate and fit it to my existing switch .
Has anyone done this ? Also if I bought a used part that for example had "ABC" etc.. could I remove the mirror switch from it and transplant it into my existing unit ?
