Bronze over Brazil - to some it will look like a rolling turd but to others it is the pinnacle of sophistication.

Minor correction.

That car looks super.

Oh Lordy, Series 1 with velour. Sounds like a decent owner too.

That is nice, plus the history too.

That is nice, but the cheesy ad is significantly off-putting. What a bell.

That velour interior looks in very good shape for the age and mileage.

I like everything about that car, I remember seeing an Iso Rivolta a very long time (70's I think) ago in that colour and loved it then. Shame I'm going very modern for my daily otherwise I'd be tempted.

It's a personal thing but I couldn't consider a car of this nature in fire-engine red

Normally I wouldn't, but some time ago the MB club had a gathering of these at MB World and I actually liked it in that colour in the flesh.

I expected to dislike it, but don't. Whilst it wouldn't be my first choice, it does look striking and if you want a good one of these you're not exactly spoiled for choice.

Not been here for a while, i see the thread is still running

I'm insured with Locktons, who also insure my 911, however they've bumped up my premium by £60 this year.

Who else are people using for SECs which aren't garaged?

In other news, I started replacing the injectors on my 162k mile 560 with the parts below. No real reason too, i just recalled changing injectors on my old 190e 2.6 and it having a nice improvement in throttle response and pickup.

Injectors: A0000785823 / Bosch 0437502054
O rings: A0099971048
Injector holders: A1170700455
injector seal : A1160700077
injector bracket: A1160700740

I say 'started' as i had real struggle removing the injector hold down clamp bolts on both sides. Managed to do one side (just about got away with one of them), but rounded out one of the 5mm allen hex bolts on the NS bank. Spec is 10nM for these bolts, i must have been applying 5 times than when it rounded out. Lots of Rost Off in use before hand too.

Have also tried hammering home a torx bit, but that just ended up slipping too, so will need to get it drilled out and maybe re-tapped. Can't tell if they've been removed before - the injectors i did remove on the OS bank all had 'Made in Germany' on them (should be West Germany?), made me think they've been changed before.

Also, the Injector holders did not budge on mine, so have left the originals in place. I'd heard they can be pulled out with the injectors, mine seemed quite happy where they were, so both they and the o-rings were not used.
This is a job I want to do on mine to hopefully smooth out the rough running. Whats the damage per injector? Around 35 quid each?
I cannot tell you how useful it is to see part numbers written out - even if it was nearly 5 years ago!!

I have occasional trouble starting from cold, a slightly lumpy idle and the occasional slight misfire... I also have 140k miles and I'm pretty sure original injectors. Going to take this job on myself, and the part numbers here plus the experiences on getting out those troublesome bolts are very very useful.

Got a week off in October, and ordered parts (well, everything apart from the more readily available injectors) from Pelican in the US tonight - going to take it niiice and slowly with "A560 SEC".

Glad you found it useful!

For the clamp hold down bolts i had issues with, i had to use a set of Irwin bolt extractors - sounds painful, but they removed the rounded out Allen key bolts within seconds. #Lifesavers

Well worthwhile doing though - the Bosch CIS injectors are not serviceable and well past their best above 100k. Its not a night and day difference, however you can feel the difference at idle and initial pickup.

Good luck!
