Oh and before T5 jumps in with his beautiful GTR, here's my lowly GTS. I've not managed to find a sunny day yet to photograph it biglaugh

Maybe lowly (hardly) but it’s the best colour imo, cream interior with blue is stunning. mines selenite same as TPs.

Traction on the grc/r is incredible but tyres are much wider (335s from memory) with cup2s and they have the electronic diff, option on gts? Maybe std on later gts? (Std gtc isn’t cup2s)

Winter or rain doesn’t agree with cup2s though, not a consideration for me fortunately

How does the GTR / GTC do for traction?

My old M5 was awful but even in colder temps the GTS is absolutely superb so far, can't believe how much it has.
No problems with my GTC, just drive to the conditions. The 4WS really helps keep it planted and in all honesty I used to find my old GTS a little twitchier in really heavy rain, the C is way better. Running PS4s on mine.

Do any of you have your cars hard wired for a trickle charger? I normally do this when I buy a new car, just makes it much easier to park up and plug in without messing around with taking off battery covers etc.
Is there any problem with adding fly leads onto the Lithium battery to plug into? Mercedes have offered to include one with the car but it’s of the crocodile clip type, I’d rather use a CTEK charger with leads.

Merc branded (ctek) lithium spefific, no problems with mine.

Its connected with crok clips, theres a good void by wipers for his]ding cable when out on road.

Thanks - so there are leads connected direct to the battery terminals that then in turn connect to crocodile clips?

No, sorry, if you buy the merc branded one, it comes with either croc clips to connect to the battery or a fused hardwire connection to battery. Other end on both options, is a waterproof two pin socket that the charger itself plugs into.

The two option leads that connect to the battery are about 20” long, so there’s no excessive cable ro get rid of or wrap up into a bundle.

The amount of times ive exited the garage forgetting to undo the connector, i never bother using the securing clip on the connector for this reason now & it just pulls out if you do forget.

Incidentally (might not be applicable to newer cars) there was a free recall / upgrade for the open gills at the front of the cars where the radiators hide, early cars suffered damage to said rads so they fabricated additional grille covers to go over them, its a1/2 day free install if you dont have them and worth it imo, think someone mentioned it earlier in this.

Thanks that’s very helpful - I’ll contact Mercedes Exeter to check that recall has been done.

That’s a stunning colour combination! I looked at a GTC in that colour scheme and very nearly bought it.
I hope you’re enjoying it!

Unusual to see a C with the comfort seats.
Given its also quite a low spec I'd personally prefer to try and find an approved used instead. Gives you 2 years warranty (that one will cost you 3100 for the first year as its not a continuation).
Might just be the pictures but I've seen cleaner examples for sale

Thanks very much, it’ll be nice to be back in a V8 again after the 4c, although I know I’m going to miss it….

Agreed, think i’d prefer the comfort seats though, they dont look as nice but the extra padding would certainly be welcome on longer journeys biggrin
