I have to say though if I had that kind of inclination I would look at the CLK DTM.evil I know before anyone says its £50k more but if you really must then the DTM is the top banana. Realistically I would take either and be thankfulwoohoo

I cannot see the appeal: auto box and it's heavier than the normal CLK 63.

This is not a serious attempt to build a track car. It's just another "stick a supercharged engine with loads of torque in it" AMG with fancy seats and a new badge.

It also costs stupid money. Who in his right mind would buy this rather than a GT3 RS?

Agree - with ZOD - total waste of time - ut they love these SC barges round my way. So much money - for people that just like to mash the pedal and are not interested in the true driving experience.

I presume everyone talking about a pure driving experience drives everywhere with their foot flat to the floor being connectedand As One with the steering while executing perfect heal and tow downchanges at every possible oppertunity?

It's fast, it looks great (imo) no doubt handles well and goes about it a different way than other manufacturers like Porsche and Ferrari etc.

Dave!

Taking one of the most boring cars on the road and making it into probably one of the most exciting as well as usable and comfortable. THE sports car of the moment that combines comfort, handling, power and usability. Epic, just epic.

I love these cars so much, I wish they would make an E63 Coupe, and then an E63BS Coupe, my photoshop vision turned out like this:

I must admit I did enjoy my SLK55AMG quite a lot so I am a bit of an AMG "convert". Having said that, this car would seem to be a lot of money but imho it would also depend on the quality of the interior. I would expect some pretty hefty depreciation on this car, although it probably won't be as bad as some cars in that price range. In the meantime, I have purchased a 14 month old Nissan GTR which I wager could give this thing a run for its money for a fraction of the price. I think the GTR looks good personally, although its not a classic beauty like a DB9 etc. - but then neither is this imho. BTW, the AMG sounds better than a GTR I do admitsmile I am sure this CLK63AMG will tick alot of boxes for some people - I guess my main concern is its competition at these projected price levels.

There's an outright "rightness" to the CLK Black. Squat, taut yet elegant. Natural aspiration tops the bill. It's engine is simply a masterpiece.

I'll take mine in black, of course.
