Out of interest and not meaning to thread hijack but how was the depreciation over 3yrs on the 180 coupe?
Actually it was four years...1.8kSE

Bought in 03 for £21k

Sold in 07...(px price) for 9.5k......AI unmarked perfect condition...30,000 miles...

So not too bad I don't think, seeing as you lose the VAT and dealer's profit soon as you drive out of the showroom....

The new (latest) Coupes are to be built in Brazil btw......
Thats encouraging especially as I assume her car was pre facelift. Which logically would mean similar for ours as the new one is out. Hers will be traded at 3 yrs and is an Evolution s so may hold a smidge better

Hmm scratchchin Maybe the new generation C180K has a more powerful engine than the previous model? I originally thought the C180K felt underpowered (but maybe not rolleyes)

I had the chance yesterday afternoon to drive 3 variants of the older model (at least an hour in each).

C180K
C200CDI
C220CDI

The performance of the C200 was pretty poor & was less economical than the other two. To be fair i don't think their is much difference in the performance of the C180K & C220CDI, the fuel economy was superior in the C220...

The new generation C220CDI is superb now with 170bhp & 400nm torque & this one definately outperforms the new C180K thumbup

Thanks for letting us know how your findings. When the time comes to change my car I will be in a similar quandry.

How many miles do you have to do pa to offset the higher initial car purchase and higher fuel price?

I personally really rated the Classic SE with the Sport Pack, or the Sport Edition on the late 203s - great combination and good value for money. Of course, a 320CDI Avantgarde with Sport Pack is better still smile
