What's the one in Gloucester like? Haven't seen that one for sale. Who has it for sale?

I believe 49 UK cars
Og which I think 8 were pre facelift but I'm trying to verify
Pre mid 1996 is pre facelift like your silver car and my blue One

Four years ago to the day I viewed this one at auction

http://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2012-09...

Service history etc all checked out ok but I had no real idea of the value of the car, and of course no test drive etc.

So I ended up leaving a commission bid of £15800 - I remember hovering the pen above the bidding form wondering how much I could/should pay, and what I could be getting myself in for. It sold to the next bid increment above... curse the price shown is commission inclusive

Since every SL60 since then seems to be north of £25k and sometimes substantially higher.

£56250?! eek

Alright, the blue one had 17k more on the odometer and entirely lacked the glamour, cachet and fairydust that only a Welsh biotechnology entrepreneur can provide, but still, golly.

Golly, that's a strong number.

First job for the new owner is to immediately bin the ghastly Halfords-esque head unit.

I'm very pleased to have bought my sl60 3 months ago. It was only a 20 year wait from when I was 17 and sat in the very same blue car I have finally purchased. I've seen the red car and it is lovely and super low mileage but I would not pay that kind of money for it.

Very jealous! And is that making 3 R129s in your stable? Over 1000 bhp of M119 goodness lick

Would it be impertinent to ask for a photo or ten?

Now I wonder if the SL60 pricing might start to drag up the price of minter 500s, before I've bought mine.

I'm going to have to go and have a lie-down.

Your description of the SL60 as a German muscle car with added charm and character seems spot-on. Now should you need to get rid of one of those cooking SLs I know just the man... wink

I was all set to talk myself out of buying one this afternoon when an M-plate in Almandine Red drove past the other way, with the US-spec part-clear part-ginger indicators winking seductively.

Then I see those pictures and the money is as good as spent.

When did this one pop up? Leaves turning slightly autumnal in the photos, so is it fresh in stock?

Claims to be UK supplied. Normally I'm against the facelift but for an SL60...

They're flying a kite on the price. These aren't worth anything like that much. That's decent R107 SL500 money.

I am a little surprised that car hasn't got the pano roof option. Lovely though especially as it has the later 5 speed gearbox. I dont see it's value as more than double the price of a similar SL500.

scratchchin Maybe the first buyer didn't want the extra weight spoiling the handling of his sylph-like Merc?

No SL60 has ADS, is that right?

The silver one is not bad value
You won't get near a rare 911 model of that age for less than double

Yes not seen a 60 with ads probably as it had Amg suspension
