Interested in knowing the outcome, best of luck and keep us posted!
Also keen to know how you feel about the upgrade i.e before and after? driveability? economy?
I have just purhcased an SL55 and fancy the upgrade option of the remap and pulley change to realise 600BHP!
I have looked at a few firms to do this
DMS
Paramount Performance
Kleeman
The prices vary for what seems to be the same upgrade, from £1300 to £3500.
There are a couple of well know US tuners also doing it, although u need to send ECU away which would worry me!
Any experiences from these others? Paramount do the remap/pulley upgrade and rolling road for circa £1300 incl.. Seems good value but is it any good?
I hope you dont mind a related "hijack"
Cheers

DMS came out today and did full check on engine and confirmed the following:-
1. Charge cool pump failed ( confirmed this while driving the car)
2. Misfire on cylinder no 1 ( either spark plug or charge coil above plug)
Getting both sorted at MB specialist on Monday will keep you posted!

Keep me posted on this, I'm quite interested. Can you detail the modificaitons, cost and time taken for the work to be carried out?
What makes DMS think that the modifications have produced ~
600 bhp?
Also do DMS think that the component failures were due to the modifications or wear and tear?
Many thanks.

My apologies for the interruption, if you use the search function with "DMS" as your criteria , you`ll find a raft of posts on this subject previously submitted which you may find helpful. What makes DMS think that the modifications have produced ~

Further to your query Pierre, I was informed by the DMS technicians when they installed the relevant software and other implements that 80bhp/80 lbft torque was added to the output of the supercharged V8 installed in my SL55.
Depending on the quoted figures from AMG ( mine was 493bhp/513lbft from memory) that would equate to 573bhp/593lbft , noted that they are not as attention grabbing as 600 hp etc, nevertheless, still big and still impressive when used to the full.

Hi C2, reference 'cylinder misfires' if changing plugs and coils dose not work let me know I have a list of other possibilities.1. Charge cool pump failed ( confirmed this while driving the car)
2. Misfire on cylinder no 1 ( either spark plug or charge coil above plug)
Getting both sorted at MB specialist on Monday will keep you posted!

Mikial,
For you to assume that I haven't read all the SL 55 AMG posts and Internet articles including long term reports on DMS tuned cars is a little presumptuous. Since my SL55 is out of warranty and I am looking to spend up to £2800 to get the DMS upgrade carried out you should be able to see my interest in this particular case. Also registering true interest in someones unfortunate predicament and potential advice/debate is probably what helps keep the forum thriving even when the topic has been re-visited. Imagine the following scenario: the thread poster didn't get any replies which happens regularly on the Mercedes PH forum. He will probably not visit the forum in the future, also if the thread doesn't get several hits some users may not visit it from the main page due to possible title ambiguity.
Rant over.

Good point ,well made too, although I disagree my post is even a tinsy winsy bit presumptuous, I was merely pointing out something you may have missed, clearly though you didn`t . As you highlight if no-one replied or took the bother to respond the forum would slowly perish.
