c63 gearchange?

Hi,

I used to have an slk 350 with 7g auto it was very sluggish to respond. Is the C63 gearchange more instant and is the paddle shift closer to manual gearchange , does it blip on downshifts?

A friend of mine used to have access to a CLK Black Series. He said there wasn't an auto-blip, but it would be easy to manually blip once you've got used to it.

From a passenger ride, I can testify the gear change in that car was crisp and fast.
I know AMG tweaked the 7G-gearbox, so I would think it would be faster than your SLK was.

I'm sure an owner or two will be along shortly to confirm or correct what I've said though

The C63 that I drove at MB World blipped on the downshifts.

Cant tell you how the gearchange compares to a SLK350 but IMO the C63 gearchange is quick enough.

In C or City the gear change is not as quick as in Manual and the i think but dont quote me on it its only the the C63 that will hold the gears regardless of revs in Manual mode, you get a beep and a red illumination on the Dash Info Section of the Speedo.

Personally i find it more than adequate in Sport Mode without having to use Manual although the blip on the drop down is fun.
