CL55 AMG Sat Nav Question

Hi I have just done a deal in principle on a 2000 CL55 Amg but when I tried the sat nav it came up with disc error on the screen, what would be the best thing to try 1st to check if working correctly. Stereo & everything else seems fine. Is the disc reader in the boot on these? All help appreciated

Check the disc for scratches. Is it a CD and not a DVD - if memory serves the 2000 CL AMG has a CD and it's loaded in to the comand unit in the dash.

I have 2003 CL 55 AMG, one of the ones that was a stop gap between revamps. Has the widescreen display but and the nav disc (CD) goes in the comand unit in the front, a colleague has a model about 5 months newer than mine and his disc (DVD) goes in the boot.

Does that help - probably not :-(
