Has anyone who has placed an order, who is expecting their diesel Merc soon heard about the issue with the piston mnaufacturer having a manufacturing problem, who has now gone bust. Apparently deliveries expected in December are being stuck on the line until this issue is resolved. Applies to all engines including new 250cdi and 350cdi etc.

its a problem with the new injectors on the c220cdi & c250cdi. all orders have been delayed until March/April intil they can sort out this fault. C350cdi is ok. I work for MBUK and have a c220cdi that has the engine warning light on and has been stuck at my local dealer for over 2 weeks now.

BIGP, thanks for info. I had been told issues with 350cdi engines too, with delayed delivery until January?

Affects the new 200CDI too possibly? Same block as the 220 and 250 CDI models iirc.

C200CDI & C350CDI are still being delivered at work , all our orders for c220cdi & c250cdi have been cancelled and replaced with c200. cars with reccurring injector problems are now being parked up at dealers , the customers are given courtesy / hire cars until the problem is fixed properly.
customers are also being given a free service when it is due as a goodwill gesture.
my car is still at my local dealer waiting for another part from Germany. the dealer has now had the car longer than i have had it.

Sounds like this could cost Mercedes a fair bit, plus the loss of potential sales short term. Thought they had overcome reliability issues like this.

I'm think about changing my estate for one of the first of the W204 C classes. Does this effect all the latest generation engines, or just certain build dates?
