Yes.
New glass is available from the dealer. From memory it is not very expensive (much, much cheaper than a whole new light assembly). It was also easy enough to remove and replace, although you may want to purchase new seals to go with the new glasses. Often the reflectors will be tarnished, too. Again, new reflectors are pretty cheap.
I considerably prettified my SL C this way (and vastly improved the lighting).
I'm assuming your 80s SL is a r107.
