Merc E W211 and W212

Own an 07 W211 220cdi and looking at replacing it in March 10 with w212 E250 or E350. Trouble us I've driven both and I'm not impressed. Build quality has gone downhill and they seem to have skimpted on a few things just save a few quid - no secondry visor, no "rest" heater function, headrest's don't fold down flat anymore, smaller boot etc etc

Engine noise was noticable at only 3k.

Also, it. just doesn't feel or look like a proper merc. Is this because it's the new model and I'm being a nobber?

Anyone upgraded from the 211 to 212 and initially had doubts by now love it?

have to say I think you are bonkers.

The 212 is much improved over the 211.

the 250cdi kicks the old 220 lump and the 350 is better than the 320.. the interior is nicer, the handling is better it is less CO2 and barely any more in price.

I think the W212 is a bit like the E60 5-series, in that the looks are fairly controversal, but will grow on you over time. I don't share your opinion of the interior.
