There's: http://www.silchestercars.co.uk/index.htm who sell a lot of these motors. Also take a look at http://www.silverarrows.co.uk/sales.htm for higher end cars.
I've had a '69 280SL for ten years now and it's never let me down, but I think the trick was to buy the best I could afford then have regular servicing done with someone you can trust.
In addition there's Roger Edwards Motors who've serviced these cars for decades, they rebuilt my engine nine years ago, highly recommended.
