Afternoon all,

Can anybody recommend a company that can allow an ipod to play through the hifi?

My 2003 has COMAND/phone/cd multi changer, so not sure if the wiring for the old Nokia can be adapted for an iphone or whether you need have a split before the cd changer?

Thanks

Laurie

Think you can update the cradle for the i phone or get a blue tooth cradle, however this will only allow you to use the phone as a phone. As you have command your dealer should be able to supply you with an i pod intergration kit to listen to your music, it will work with your command and still maintain steering wheel functions.
Yours may be to early but will find out for definate tommorrow.

Cool, much appreciated.
The main reason for doing it will be so we can play music, not that bothered about being able to use the phone function.
Just thought it would be cool to have it in the arm rest as I'm not sure where else it would go as I don't like the idea of a random cable out the back of the dash!
Does it matter if it is cd/dvd comand?
Thanks,
Laurie

in the glove box there is a 3.5mm line in and on your comand press System and then Aux and it will play from any source - all you will need is an iPod to 3.5mm connector off eBay!

That sounds like the easiest option if it can be done.

Found out merc dont sell an i pod intergration kit for the sl W230, something to do with the earlier command software, not sure about any aftermarket retro-fits.

Phone can be done depending on vehicle codes.

You can get a bluetooth adapter that is basically a Nokia 6300 shaped thing that goes into the cradle and fools the car into thinking its a phone. This then means you can use your iPhone (or any other).
Mine is from Medea Direct and was a whopping £300!

What I really want is something to play my iPod Touch or iPhone *properly* through the COMAND - even Video - especially since my TV fucntion is now useless as they have switched off the analogue signal.

You mentioned this before - I suspect that you SL55 is a lot newer than my SL. I probably ought to phone the company concerned and ask.

CycleSi, I assume you had a company fit this for you?
If I try and fit it myself I feel it may end up in a mess!
Can you still use your cd changer?
Thanks,
Laurie
