SL500 - v - SL350

I'm looking at changing my CLK 320 for an SL but undecided which is best engine to go for. I've seen a few '06 models that fall into my price range but can any existing owners please advise of their experiences. I love the idea of the V8 but are they expensive on upkeep/maintenance when compared to the 350, and is the performance significantly better?

All thoughts and views on both would be much appreciated thanks.

Hi I would advise you to go for the 500 everytime! Especially in the SL range the 350 got a really poor right up, head to head against it. I will try and find the thread if i can.

I have to say that these days I don't think it matters. The SL500 has the advantage that they usually come loaded with just about every option whereas whenever I see an SL350 it's usually missing stuff like COMAND or ArseTronic.

Also the SL350 has proper suspension with springs. This does not cost a bazillion quid to fix. This is a sore point with me.

Nope. Only the special suspension filled with unicorn's milk.
