Hi all

I have a strange problem with my COMAND satnav (2002 CD based system).

The on screen cursor shows me (on the screen) as being about a centimetre or so 'behind' where I am - ie. in normal use about 200 yds behind. This is a pain in the bum if you're in a built up area.

It didn't do this originally.

However the line at the bottom shows me as being in the bang-on correct location - ie. if I drive onto High Street it displays correctly, even if the cursor is out.

Also the smaller display in the instrument binnacle (and the voice prompts) are also accurate.

I've reset and calibrated the system. No joy.

Any ideas? confused

This probably sound daft but have you replaced the tyres lately? The Comand manual for my 210 says that if you change the front tyres you should recalibrate the navi system to "ensure optimum vehicle location" It's on page 285 if you've got the manual.

I have indeed reset the tyre "thing".
I swear I once saw something on the interweb about this (before it happened to me), but I simply can't find it.

I have all the manuals, every MOT, bill etc.

As I say - the thing obviously knows accurately where it is due to the street display being spot on and the voice commands being perfect - it's just the display - it's like the arrow needs moving a touch. Maddening.

Mine done just the same the other week, I removed the cd/dvd from the reader and cleaned it, put it back in drove the car with the main Navi screen up then after about 5 Min's pressed the map button and it calibrated it self and was no more trouble. Mines the 2003/2004 DVD based system. I believe the hand book gives full instructions on how to re set.
