Knocking from rear noise 2205 E270CDi -

Hiya

I have a 2005 E270CDi auto and when I pull away sprightly then take my foot off of the acelerator i'm getting a knocking noise coming from what sounds like offside rear wheel area, it genuinelly sounds like one of the headrests banging but isn't, any ideas????

a) Check rear suspension for play (especially forward/backward)Could be a worn out rubber bushing

c) Could be a driveshaft or diff mount

b) Check gearbox rubber mount or engine mounts even

On my C-Class the clunk came from a worn out rubber cylinder at the end of one of the rods in the rear suspension.
