hi all, first post. i am looking to buy another car and was looking to get another convertable. i was looking to get a nearly new MX5 (the tin top one) but changed my mind. i then thought about another SLK, i have had an SLK350, but it was so bad to drive i traded it for a boxter's', by bad i mean the steering pull to the left was soo bad that if it had been second hand i would have said it had been in a crash. anyway, i set out to look for a 320 but noticed a few posts where people were talking about SLK32 mercs, i thought they were just missing off the 0, but then found out what they are, i thought perfect just the car (if you can find one). now after looking at lots of pages on here it seems that they have a few problems, rust, supercharger, seem to be the most common. rust we all know about, but i looked through lots of posts but never found any that realy say much about the supercharger problem, if i get a 32 that has a problem after i get one, what happens and what are about the cost of repares.
cheers all.....tom

Good 32's are rare, but a good one is excellent. They aren't cheap to run, though. That said, they are an acquired taste, so you really need to try a few. As you found an SLK disappointing, prepared not to be inspired.

hi i cant say i was dissapointed with the SLK as such, just the fact that it pulled so bad, so i hope a one with a different steering set up is better. if mercedes had of made any effort to help the situation i might have the car still, all the dealer done was thrash it around the block and said, oh thats ok sir they'r all like that, when realy he ment to say, i'v got your money so what you going to do about it.

Odd that, never had that in the ones I've driven, and it isn't a common problem. Sounds like the dealer needed a kick in the arse.

Maybe try a decent one as well as the 32. As long as they are looked after, the build quality is rock solid.
