Need new tyres for my SL55, has Pirelli zero rosso's on at the moment but have never liked pirelli car tyres. Had Mich pilot sports on last car & they were good. Can get new Mich pilot sport 3 for it now, anybody tried these or any other recomendations.

Upon perusing the M Forums and looking through recent issues of EVO I will not be replacing my SL 55 tyres with P Zero. It appears that Falken F452 or Vredstein Ultracs from www.camskill.co.uk are up to the job. The only issue I forsee is that there isn't a 285/30/19 but there is a 275/30/19 at the sane price range (about £140 per tyre).

If anyone has any comments they are more than welcome, but unless they have first hand experience I would head over to the M Forum to see their experiences.

what were the official tyres that came on the SL55 from the factory?

my one has dunlop sports at the front and goodyear eagle f1 at the rear, of which all of them seem ste!

i noticed the new AMG's (e class) have p zeros on, so is it the same of the ole SL55??

I Have Michelin Pilot sports definitely better than P-Zeros.

I've got Conti Sport Contact 3s on my SL500. In cold and damp they seem much more apt to slide than the old PS3s (or were they PS2s) - usually when exiting junctions. Not worryingly so though.

On the upside they seem to be lots more hard wearing and they have an excellent rim protector - probbably the best I've ever used.
