Any thoughts on the new E-class night-vision system?

(video here if you don't know about it http://videos.cnet.co.uk/39045476.htm)

as the guy says, think it may make things more dangerous than not. My wife almost swerved off the road the other day pressing am FM preset, never mind something like this. But I do think this kind of gadget would work as a head-up display though, rather than head down.

How do they get away with a video on the dash, thought that was banned, looks dangerous to me even having to look down to use the night vision, can't believe all that is street legal, is it?

Just give up driving, sit in a robot and be done with it? Too much fiddling and not enough concentration me thinks.

Notice he said set the cruise control to the max of the vehicle, and it does the rest, not sure he actually meant what he said.

Sure he meant set the cruise control to max desired speed.

I would love to have the radar based cruise control on my car when I have to do extensive motorway miles.
Although slight concern remains about whether it would be as used once the novelty wore off.

Had it on my S-Class. Waste of money IMO. Cool gimmick but pretty pointless. The radar guided cruise however is a masterpiece, spend the money on that instead.
