That could take some time yet... but besides the wheels, the car should look finished from the outside in a few weeks or less smile

Looks really good and I'm sure it's most peoples dream to be able to be able to do this let alone actually be involved in the whole process start to finish.

Out of interest do you have a budget for the whole project?

I'm sure it's a labour of love but would be interesting to know realistic costs.

Good luck and thanks for sharing this with us all

Dream... or nightmare? I'm not some days! I know I'll look back at it as 'a dream fulfilled' (and thats why I decided to jump in head first), but this project has both its high's and extreme low's... it just a question of balancing them, and learning very quickly.

I'm not really keeping tabs on costs (because it is what it is, and I'm in too deep not to complete), but the car cost just under 20k, and I must have spent 5-7k on top of that so far with parts, blasting and materials etc. I have heard of people spending up to 200k on these cars (for concurs) but I'm trying to do it for 10k or less (and to a very high standard).

I couldnt do it without forum guidance from the SL pros, and alot of help from a rather gifted friend of mine (who the car will be named after once complete).

I've never done anything like this before... and I wont be doing it again, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

I saw a 190SL at Goodwood today: a truly fabulous car.

It will be worth it in the end!

Wow, you are doing a fantastic job there.

Great to see this old classic being brought back to life.

I only wish I had a tenth of your skill and ability smash
