biggest differance was the braking sysytem reverted back to a normal servo, not the troublesome electronic type..also the auto box became the 7 speed type

Well, I'm still looking. I've upped my proposed budget, but decent sub £18k facelift models are still very thin on the ground.
A couple of questions
What does 'Sport' specification mean?
Is 'Command' really worth a £1k premium on a 4 year old car ?

Pre facelift had problems with gearboxes and electrics. I've done 215k in my 07 220 with no problems. I personally think this version looks nicer. Facelift models are easy to spot as they have different mirrors, rather than the flat fold in ones the old model has.
The 220 has more than enough power in standard form and if you get it mapped mpg and power will increase. If you can stretch go for a facelift version.
