R172 SLK 55 to replace my R171 SLK 55 biggrin

Very nice, how does it compare to the older model? a good friend of mine has just bought a facelift SLK350 and the other is looking at the SLK 55 facelift. Be interested to hear your comments.

Picked this up in December.

Really like it, characterful engine and love the looks. Seems to be well screwed together and a practical estate type boot without looking like a typical box estate.

I too got one in December (the deal was good, £30k off list at 39k miles) and love it; its only the 250 but for distance duties and general family it is ideal.

Im nicely impressed. Do you find the 7G a bit jerky sometimes when cold at all?

Yes, but in a kind of stretchy-rubber-band feeling rather than something harsh / mechanical. If that makes sense? The headlights have been the biggest winner for me, all this LED and high beam assist / corner turning lights is a world away from what I am used to in my R129. Wife drove the 129 last night and got home complaining that it was like it had no lights on compared to the CLS.

Thanks for that, that basically describes what I'm feeling. Occasionally a bit of a thud from second into first too on a fast deceleration.

Just had front discs and pads replaced under warranty, cant fault the dealer (MB BIshops Stortford).

Totally concur about the lights. Couldnt work out how to put the full beams on until I noticed it did it itself! That and the self park taking me by surprise. Great cars.

All the 7Gs do that - it should go away once warm. Not sure if yours is the same, but I use "C" when cold, so it doesn't use 1st gear, then switch up to "S" once warm.

None of them are mine....

My wife bought her white C250 then my next-door neighbour bought his C200 and now our son has his C220 AMG Line.

So my Scoob's feeling a bit out-numbered.

230 slk with a bigger bottom pulley , re map , intercooler and cone filter , 6 speed manual , it goes a lot better than people would imagine . I've no idea why they get slated so much , not the best drive in the world but for the money !

I have just sold my CLS 350DCi AMG after 3 years. Yes the gearbox was quite juddery in the cold morning especially over the first mile. After that and once warm it was 100%. Over 24k miles, it never got any better or worse. Lovely car and enjoyed it very much. Nice n Torquey!

What mpg did you get out of it on average? No fantasy dream mpg either, real miles!

Image of my CLS and it's replacement a 13 thousand miler CL500 AMG sport line.

Very nice what BHP does the engine put out? Nice rear lip, I've seen some with a large wing which looks too boy racer for me.
