25 profile 20" wheels?
Yeah, 285/25/20 on the rear, something/30/20 on the front. Stupid things. I had to have new rear ones fitted this morning, as the old ones kept leaving black stains everywhere.

I got new wheels - does that count?

Ouch. Don't like those at all. Too Halfords.

Lovely indeed. I bet that drives well. My 300 is about to clock over the 190k mark and it's still good to drive (but getting a bit rusty).

It looks like mine with nicer wheels.

Mine is in the paint shop at the moment and will be there for some time. Very exciting!

Ouch indeed!
I've had a few folk say they don't like them, but comparing Vossen wheels to something you'd buy in Halfords is a low jab... biggrin
I will sell them immediately.

Apologies - didn't mean to sound like a snob - just not my style - doesn't mean the rest of the worlds population won't like them!

smile No offense taken.
Know what you mean though, some things just don't look agreeable - I don't like the modern many-spoke wheels that appear on most of the fast Mercedes these days, they just look.. well, fussy. Be dull if they all looked the same though. Five is most definitely the perfect number of spokes in the world of UtterPiffle...

Have to say that looks really nice. Is there much of a whine from the supercharger. Looked at 2 of these and the charger whine put me off both of them.Always wondered if I had just seen 2 bad ones, or did they all whine like that. Looked at an E55 kompressor which didn't have the same whine even though it has a supercharger too.

My old slk32 (now driven by the missus) has the same engine and there was no noticeable s/c whine.

I loved that engine..it had a turbine like smoothness and when you put your foot full down there was a second's hesitation and then it was like being on the end of a piece of elastic..even more so than my n/a 55. The kleemann s/c upgrade liberated an extra 50 bhp too

The c32 is a massively underated (and understated!) Car

My SL55 whines from cold but the whine disappears after a couple of mins of use.

Hardly any supercharger noise. I was almost disappointed when I couldn't hear it. It's an absolute brute of an engine though. Had it 2 months now, loving every minute. It's had the small pulley & remap so it's over 400hp
This is what they go like... 0-140 in less that 20 secs!!!

Had my newly acquired pearl blue 1992 500SL out for the first time properly today, in company with another 500SL that also rolled off the production line in 1992. Gingercation for the Nation!
