Hi John,

Nice car. Is it always that low, or has it been purposefully lowered?
Might be a trick of the eye, but curiosity is getting the better of me smile

It is fitted with a Renntech lowering module and is only that low when parked up. Usually raise it a bit using ABC when moving. Just thought it looked odd when I fitted the 19" wheels so decided to fit the lowing module which is expensive but gives you ultimate control over ride height.

Ah, interesting, thank you. Glad to to know there was a cogent reason. By and large I've found the ownership experience of M-Bs luxury/performance cars to be wildly and emotionally stochastic! When on song, little out there has as much charisma as an AMG at full chat, foot planted as you exit the toll booth. The flip side is walking up to your p&j in the morning, finding it flat on it's rubber, and you just know that ABC isn't quite as simple as 123...

Agree wholeheartedly!! Just before I had the lowering module fitted ABC warning came on and needed to replace rear strut. Fortunately MB now do re-manufactured units so saved myself £400. Took the shine off the upgrade though!!

Thanks. Its a 320 V6, so a reasonable combination of economy and performance. It also came with its Panoramic Hard Top and stand and seems to have all the toys. The only downside has been that it was specified with the non smoker pack which in 1999 meant no power sockets inside the car. Discreet power sockets being fitted next week.

Mine, delivered on Tuesday:

E300 Hybrid AMG Sport. I like it. Into this from a 2011 A4 2.0L TDi Quattro. For less money/month!

Loads of toys to figure out how they work.

New to me E220 CDi , collected on Friday.
First ever diesel and already don't think I will ever go near petrol again.
Loving some of the touches in this car such as the way the CD changer appears from behind a cover on the dash , the panoramic roof , the ambient lighting front and back etc etc etc
Excuse the terrible pictures.

Such a lovely looking car.

It took me so long to get round to liking Merc's, (The one I have now is my first one), and I adore the external styling of them but have always hated the interiors.

The interior of my W220 is well thought out, ergonomic and does what it says it'll do but lacks the opulence of the Jag' XJ that preceded it, in fact it's quite cheap in comparisson.

The Jag' looked like a nicer place to be but I could never get used to it. The switchgear never made sense and it all seemed so cluttered. With little exception, everything falls readily to hand in the 'S' class. I love it but, even yet, I'm not sure I would like a pre-'90's Merc'.
