Retrofit Sat Nav
Discussion
Apologies if this has been done before....
I'm getting a new E Class Conv shortly but it won't come with sat nav (work company car). I'm happy to use Tom Tom so not the end of the world but my last few cars have all had inbuilt units so I would prefer this.
Is it an easy job to retrofit sat nav? I know on the VW's it's basically just a case of taking the old unit out and plugging the new one in.
PS I have read that a car is a Wxxx model or whatever. Any idea what mine is?
Thanks (a clueless new merc convert!!)

I'd suggest looking at comandonline.co.uk who are specialists.
Be warned you'll be looking at waaaay into four figures (I suspect).
And although it's a "cool to have" thing I have yet to find a built in sat nav on any make of car that is as good as a Tom Tom. I'd save my money if I were you.

Thanks for the link.....I was hoping I could just buy a second hand unit and make the change. Obviously not as easy as it is with the VW's!
You can sometimes find the units s/h but you'll still need someone like commandonline to do the fitting. It's not particularly straightforward. They've done loads.Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
