A friend of mine is selling her Merc soon and would like to get a complete list of all of the options it has.

She is not however in possession of the original options list, and isn't entirely sure of what it does and does not have.

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain the original spec/options sheet from Mercedes by giving them the registration or chassis number of the car? I've seen this done by BMW before, but didn't know if the same thing applied to Merc's....

Thanks.

You can do this from mbclub.co.uk

Search for "the russian site" and when you find the link you can enter the VIN (chassis num) and get the spec

I've done it for all three of mine and it's pretty accurate

Mine has a list of the codes for the options fitted in the back of the service book.

Excellent, cheers chaps - will plug the VIN in when I get hold of it later and report back on my findings.

Riff Raff is quite correct. The list is down in the back of the book as a list of numbers. The question is, does anyone have a list of corresponding option descriptions?

Thanks

Google is your friend here. I had a list for mine, but I can't remember where I got it from or what I did with it!

I was surprised when I did the lookup, 'cos I discovered a whole load of things the car had fitted that I didn't know about. Like a high capacity battery.

Ive just tried this for my ml430 and the worked fine but the last code is this -
984 COC DOC., DELETION OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION DOC.

Any ideas?

Could it have been registered abroad first?
