As i've said before if you have left a sizeable deposit with a dealer make sure it's being used for the purpose it was meant to be and not just propping up the coffers of the dealer. A certain indiviual at Alfa GB with the initials of DD will no doubt be involved so you can guarantee it will be handled in a totally unprofessional manner. Have we met? Ouch! Poor Damien

To update:
I made enquiries on the European front and things are far too silent for my liking. Six months ago Alfa were pledging the 850Kgs, that was there rational for keeping the power at the 235ish level. Now its 900Kgs. And power is allegedly down to 230. All according to the TG article. But my European and British sources are quiet on this. Hmm.
Initially first European deliveries would be last 1/4 2012. That is not happening now from what I can gather.
I have nothing concrete to add over that I am afraid. I suspect the next solid update will be Geneva. Rest assured I will be grilling the Chef de Mission!

Having owned a number of Alfas in the past and with an Abarth 500ss that is due for a change next year I'm left wondering whether it is worth while waiting for the 4c or forgetting it as another Alfa dream/marketing exercise that at best will turn up late/completely different/lhd only/or not imported.
The lack of specifics after all the hype of its appearances at various shows is a bit of a joke and perhaps reveals a lack of committment to the car which does nothing to inspire confidence in waiting.
So to those with inside knowledge - what would you do - wait and hope or just get a Cayman r or similar and face less frustration. Couldn't wait and have gone for a Cayman R. Nothing like 57k ..... deals to be had. Oh and not a bad car either!

Definitely advocate getting your deposit back unless you want to pay for your Alfa dealers Christmas party! As predicted, by the time the 4C comes out the game will have moved on and the impact of the car will be less - another wasted opportunity.

I have it on good authority (Silverstone Porsche Experience Instructors) that a LHD Alfa 4c drove out of Silverstone today on UK plates. Does a running UK prototype/preproduction car exist? Was anyone else around Silverstone today to confirm or picture this?

Never heard of the 4C on the road anywhere. The one at all the shows was just a rolling chassis with interior.

Red - and only red please Reading of the delays - worried about RHD ever turning up if the yanks go for it like they hope http://www.alfa4c.co.uk/article/4c-delayed-until-2...

I hope that they will find some talented people to tune the chassis to handle good. I think we all can say that 8C was a failure due the the handling.
Currently my no.1 option for next car is a cayman R, but 4C has all the potential to be much better with 300bhp and also of course cheaper.

The 8C Coupe was not a failure, 500 built, 500(ish)sold. It was built to be lairy and TG tested it in the rain, where's the failure?

One of, if not the most beautiful looking cars of recent times. Never driven one but on looks alone it is top of my favourite modern cars list. Certainly not a failure to my eyes.
