Hi fiat Lovers!!

I have a 2003/04 fiat barchetta (latest version with new bumpers) , with very low mileage , when engine is still worming up the engine nearly dies when one removes the throttle and the revs drop to a point where it stalls.

Once worm it gets better and does not stall the engine ... with load like a/c , lights on, it seems it is worse ... I still need to check the lampda sens , there are three of them ... also on acceleration I can hear clicking noise ( not always ) ... could be the throttle body or variator ... the car is under 10k km... so not sure of that!..

Tks...M

Cam variator - Barchettas (and a fair few Alfas) are (in)famous for failing variators

Could also be the idle control valve - cleaning them out with carb cleaner usually does the trick

Thanks for your reply ... since my engine is the latest type .. the throttle body is different from the old type , there is no idle valve on it. as quoted the Car is under 10,000km so could it be the variator at this early stage ?..... these symptoms are only at cold as at worm it's ok.
