A gandini piece indeed. Acquired three weeks ago from a distinguished gent who had 2 other masers in his stable..amazingly has had it from new so 18 years and has reached 175 k miles as a daily driver. Before anyone says that it proves Italian cars take mileage, the amount spent on the old girl is staggering. Bills for £35 k in the Last 5 years alone!!
Consequently just about everything has been renewed at some point. I'm just trying to enjoy it while it lasts..
Great, more pics when you get some more!Consequently just about everything has been renewed at some point. I'm just trying to enjoy it while it lasts..
Dinkle that Spider looks ace, are the tires bigger or do they normally look that nice and fat?

Yes. It's about 1200 kgs. There are lighter cars out there. But OMG what a stunning piece of work.
Fell in love with this one when it was in John Bendalls ownership. Roger Wills purschased it in - I think - 2007 and has campagned it here and there.
It features in the GT Racer Portimao Classic. It's a must see and hear: 327 on Webers yum.
Ah right, I knew it wasn't the lightest of its class but never thought it would 'feel' that heavy, but haven't had the luxury of testing one back to back with lightweight e types and GTOs! Its pretty cool to hear how they actually drive from people that race them all over, rather than just swooning over them online, or at an event.Fell in love with this one when it was in John Bendalls ownership. Yeah they are stunning cars, and as you said, sound awesome, spent a large some of 2012 on youtube pleasing my ears with them!

Well ... not every 327 is the same, here in todays historic racing. As you will be aware
I'm not a journalist. Just a passionate petrolhead who happends to like diving into other peoples business. Two or three times a year I pop by a Spa, Snett, Zandvoort or local event. Chatting with the teams has become a habit. It's amazing how detailed they are about driving and peparation. There's no magazine or vid that can compete with that sort of info.

Its great fun chatting away to those who race, like you said most are rather friendly and happy to chat away. I just need to get to some proper events now!
I was walking past a garage about 6 months ago, noticed something old and sporty. At first I thought it was the back of a race/climb prepped xk120, only to release on closer inspection it was a C type. Replica I thought, must be, cant be that lucky. Owner comes out, and sure enough its a real one! Lovely chap, chatted for a while and then to top it off, took me for a ride! Wow, such an amazing car. Felt so stiff and planted, although admittedly not going fast. Made my year!
It was so great to be in an early 50s car, like the ones I spend too much time coveting, and really experiencing what it was like. Id always have a funny feeling that perhaps the 200si's and the like I'd kill for would disappoint, and for a 'driving' experience something more modern but far less alluring would trump it. But from my brief experience I think I'd be anything but disappointed. Id love to get a ride in one pushing on, because it felt so stiff, I'm sure it would be stunning when at full tilt.
