OK, the names:
Alfa Thrasher
P5Nij
have been given to admin support, hopefully you should be on shortly. Sorry about the rather rubbish manual registration system we're currently having to run while the auto one isn't working.

AO is a useful resource, but unfortanately as others have said it's falling apart - it just doesn't feel friendly any, more due mainly to over-zealous moderation by people like Paintergirl, who are slowly ruining it. I know quite a few people that have stopped using it for this reason.

Forums are made by their contributors and the feeling of community! A shame for AO, as the majority of people on there are great.

What a load of utter rubbish. There is no one modding that is fairer than Pg (no I am not married to her)
What a lot of wingers that have left AO fail to mention is their usernames from there so that regulars on AO can remember their amazing contributions, though most were just prats.
If anyone is 'ruining AO it is the NEW OWNERS

I have an image of Bazza writing names with a quill pen on parchment and then dispatching them via the fastest horse in all of Congleton to some dark and foreboding place where the mysterious admin person dwells.

How you doing you big bear?

I am also very frustrated by this, buying an alfa tomorrow and massively keen on learning how to change the head unit.

My user name is solidsoulja on there, email address is solidsoulja@googlemail.com

if someone could help to get me verified that would be great also.

PS i am working in Congleton...does this mean i get priority? haha

Cheers.

You are probably related to Bazza.
Do you have webbed feet and a lisp?

You don't need to be registered to view (I think), only to ask new questions.

So, for all your 147/156/GT headunit needs, go here: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/ice-and-blue-and-me...

Hi Alfacallum 27/8 @ 16.13 solidsoulja 27/8 @ 16.31

I've posted your request(s) on AO
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/the-ao-bug-lounge/4...

I understand AO don't have an automatic registration system so it might take a little while to happen but it's worth it!

There is an automatic system but it was throwing out requests from anyone with a certain email address so Admin switched it off whilst they looked for a better way. Unfortunately they are still looking!

The workaround mentioned on AO worked for me. Change your email address to a new one in edit profile. Then they send a new email asking to verify your email address. Worked perfectly.

Hey Rick! Have you been hacking into my webcam again? Except it's not parchment, it's papyrus.

You know I have a daughter now? So all your prattling on about fitting prams into Sportwagons finally became useful.

GT Mark UK at AO has suggested the following fix: (Thanks Mark!)

Quote

This is assuming you have more than one email address.

1. register as normal as you would with the email address you would like to use
2. go into profile and change your email address to something else
3. change it back to the email address you would actually like to use and the email confirmation email should come through then.

End Quote

If anyone else has a problem registering with AO I suggest you try the above. Any problems please make a post with your AO username and date of registration & I will try & inform the AO Mods.

Not been near your webcam. Not me. Although if you can give me the IP address for Paintergirl's that would be great.
I think you did tell me you'd had a mini bear. All those years of practicing obviously paid off! Definite knack to getting all that stuff into a Wagon isn't it?

Hi

I recently purchased a 52 Plate Alfa GTV. Loving it. I have been trying to register with alfaowner.com and no matter what I do I cannot get them to send me a verification email. My user name is GTV 01 as on here. Tried contacting the mod's but nothing. Anyone else a member who can help me? Cheers Andy
Don't bother, the tactics employed by the ower and some of the Mod team make it a tedious place to be at best.
