I hope this...

...

...is due to age and not a knackered engine or gearbox mount.

New pipe in place and I can start thinking properly about suspension (if the rattly back box lasts long enough). wink

So the plan for today was to chop and fit my Stainless Steel back box to my Punto.

I noticed the original was rattly as heck when I fitted the new flexipipe and it needed replacing.

The idea was to tack weld it in place with a ninety degree bend trimmed to fit, take the exhaust off and bench weld it before fitting it all back but there was so much room around the pipe it didn't have to come off at all. smile

Also I'd like to thank ARK Graphics...

...for my stupendous UK Power Tour Sun strip and numbers...

...hopefully if there's a £999 Challenge this year I'll get some made up for that event as well. wink

The eBay road trip went well. My nine hour journey took a little over twelve due to the motorway network being about as much use as aluminum head bolts.

Before...

...during...

...after.

In a conversation with a friend of mine I mistakenly wrote "Carification" instead of "Clarification".

As we all know the three most referred to topics on the internet are Pornography, Whether we'd survive a "Zombie Apocalypse" and spelling mistakes.

Saturday I took the back seat out of my car and used a board as a flat surface. "Vanification".

Today I have refitted the back seat and the car is a car again...

...ladies and gentlemen; boys and girls.

"Carification"

Just got rid of one to the scrappy that's been on my drive for years. You could have had it, why didn't you ask? Only 20,000 miles, too...smile

Bugger! That's a shame. I could do with a spare engine to add a few bits to. wink

I was thinking of getting my tape measure out and seeing if the 1.6 engine would fit my spare Panda as the 16V is a drop in. wink

There are only a hundred or so 1.6 Sporting Puntos left and 20,000 miles would have been one of the lowest in the UK.

Look at Punto Sporting prices now compared to how much Fiat 500's were fifteen/twenty years ago. My £350 Panda is now insured for £3,100 and that value is going up consistently every renewal.

So what would my 20,000 miler Sporting be worth if in good running order now, do you reckon?

£800 to £1,500 depending on the condition bodywork and interior wise and colour.

They only made the 1.6 Sporting for one year due to the change in emissions regulations making the old 128 X-1/9 engine obsolete.
