Been looking for a decent 156/159 Sportwagen since January, ideally I'd prefer manual, diesel (although at this point I'm open to faster petrol cars) the later 156 nose, not silver if possible and leather is a must and under £3k.

Apparently no such car exists though!!

All silver, ratty as anything, a million miles away or most commonly have some sort of shocking cloth/velour interior on them.

Does my car exist or should I go and look at ZT's and SAABs again?

Good ones are few and far between, I'm guessing owners like them too much biggrin

Took me around 3 months to find a nice saloon (2.4 20v).

does exist, but will take some time to find smile they are good cars, though. Got myself 156 1.9 SW with later nose last October and love every time I drive it.
But it's not leather - sand coloured interior

There's a couple of great looking 1.9 later nosed ones on at the moment but neither with leather and there's something distinctly unappealing about the non-leather interiors. IMO of course.

yes, I've heard that Alfa leather is something that makes interior much much better.

156 Estate has less luggage space than the saloon? or is that one an old wives tale?

Technically yes, but only with the cover in place, which if you are stuck for space would obviously come off.
Wagon's are still much more practical as the seats drop, which can't be done in a 156 Saloon.
