Hi, I bought a 1999 Spider last month and it's got 4 different makes of cheap tyre! As I don't have a handbook, I just wanted to confirm that it has 16 inch wheels with what size of tyre? If you'd also like to recommend any particular make, feel free.

Cheers

Put the registration number or VIN into this and you should be able to get a handbook in pdf format online:

Sixteens should be 205/50/16. Conti SportContact2 did a good job on my old GTV.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the link to a pdf file didn't work with my reg or VIN number but thanks anyway. Could you tell me the full tyre details, ie speed rating etc, thanks.

We've got 16s on our 1999 V6 GTV and it runs 205/50x16 ZRs - have run it on Khumo Ecsta KH11s for the past 8yrs or so (not the same set!) and have always found them to be fine for grip in most conditions.

Guessing the Spider is a T-Spark so VRs will be fine... worth checking the ZRs in the same size/range aren't cheaper however.

Thanks Simon. It is a 2 litre TS and as I won't be doing a huge amount of miles in it, I'm probably gonna go with Avon. I've been given a quote of around £600 to get all the wee faults sorted, so £325 for 4 Avons will do me, oh and £60 for tracking and 4 wheel alignment, excellent! Bring on the sun.
