What exactly did Evo think could be improved? I remember something about turbo lag and the suspension. But 55k fully specced up is actually significantly less than what it really costs (me anyway) to spec a Cayman GTS at just under 70k.
Interesting dilemma though, I assume you need to gamble and spend 50k without test driving one or miss out on a build slot. Are there any demonstrators out there?

As per Chris Harris / Mr Meaden's twitter conversation : Chris Harris ?@harrismonkey Feb 16
Rear toe was all wrong on 4C. Hence tramlining etc
Richard Meaden @DickieMeaden
@harrismonkey the toe's ok, it's the rest of the car that's all wrong #badumtish
Blake Currall @bcurrall80 Feb 16
@DickieMeaden @harrismonkey is it really that much of a dog Rich?
Richard Meaden @DickieMeaden Feb 16
@bcurrall80 @harrismonkey Lots of nice elements, but none feel finished. Lacks cohesion/finesse. And needs a decent powertrain. Big shame
So there you go. Everything except the toe.

the car isnt for me its for my old man. I have a lotus background (currently have an exige v6) so noise or having to slow for a speed hump dont put me off .... really looking forward to having a go.
Awesome car that. Love it, and the roadster even more so. I guess the shock won't be that big then eliotrw said:
There's way to much made of this 4c bashing. Its a 4/5 car from Evo don't forget.
The issue people flag is just to do with the feel in the front end.
All of the issues will be easily solved in the aftermarket
Yes, EVO is great for that: 4/5 for the lovers, but at the same time saying it is "unfit for purpose" for the haters. Everybody happy and EVO is always right that way. They should start a religion. Or looking at some reactions, perhaps they already have...The issue people flag is just to do with the feel in the front end.

Most cant get one & many cant afford it so why not bash it instead, the power of the internet & the keyboard warrior
The 4C wont appeal to many, if it was meant to be it would be diluted & they would be building thousands every year
Great to see a mass car producer doing something different & exciting, cant wait

Its a very cool car and rather good for the future of the FIAT group, as the tub will be used by the others in the FIAT group, rumours were that the tub would get used by Maserati for a 'gransport' with either the 4.7 or biturbo v6, obviously it will be the latter, but if it surfaces it will be a stunning car. Although given it was meant to be out in 2015 that might be a big if...

To be fair, it wasn't just evo that had issues with it in the U.K press.

Seems a bit odd reasoning. The 4C was designed by Dallara together with a Fiat team and is built at Maserati in Modena. How exactly do you figure that the Maserati version will be eluding the criticism of the EVO gang and their groupies? It will be the same team making the same car but a bit heavier and more HP. Or is that what it takes to get the EVO handshake? Now that I think about it, they do like pork...
You'll struggle to find any press outside the UK giving the same criticism that started with the *second* EVO test article on the car.
And I have yet to meet the first real live person that drove it for over 5 minutes that complains about the front. But we've been over that.
Anyway. Turns out Dallara is planning their own version in 2017, with Fiat support.
Which seems to point to the 4C not to be around that much longer. Or will have to get an engine from the company's new owner.

Spyder version next I believe
And a QV, which will probably have the same 300hp engine as the Dallara....Much like the 8 car range that was promised in 2010. Another case of vaporware?

So my guess is that this new 2.0 ltr engine will be based on the current all alu 1.750 engine and make it into the 159 replacement and new SUV in various power outputs, as well. So well before this new Dallara thing and also accordding to schedule for the 4C QV...

Not that it would be the engine, just some useless knowledge! Bored out 4c most likely as others have said.
Dellara is lightweight so that narrows down what engine is used. The 4c engine I believe to be an alloy reincarnation of a previous engine, was that ever produced as a 2 litre or bored to 2.0 by aftermarket tuners, if not it may point to there not being enough metal left in the block to take bigger bores although agreed stroking the bloke may give some extra capacity
If the dellara is 300 bhp that could be found by tuning the 1750 lump fairly easily
As with most things it's all rumour
What is true is the 4c is a reality and a nice one at that, the spyder is a logical step forward and as it's classed as another model will enable production to be increased
Now, anyone thrown in the new jap powered Abarth spyder ( oops sorry , another rumour )
