Alfa 156 JTDM 150 Stainless exhaust?

Anyone on here fitted a decent stainless steel exhaust on an Alfa 156 diesel ?
My 2005 JTDM 150 has the standard one on just now, but it will probably need replacing soon, and I am tempted by a stainless system that;1) will last longer, 2) will sound better and 3) may well increase performance/and or fuel economy.
I have had the car remapped to about 190 BHP, but the economy has not really changed from standard tune.
I was hoping a decent stainless system would make some sort of difference.
Also wondering about getting it 'de-catted', which I am told will not affect any MOT issues, but can increase flow and therefore power ?
