Interestingly ..talk of Jap evos...I drive an 8 MR daily which is just fantastic for everything, very underrated. Although recently have had my head turned by GTR's, but think I might regret changing..! Cars !!?

Having once spent a long day thraping a CL63 through desert highways (admittedly not quite as bonkers as the 65), I would say it was merely an interesting car, but ultimately forgettable.

What I'm saying is I reckon in 20 years time the integrale will become era-defining in the same way as people pay homage today to Miuras, Dinos and '73 RSs. £30k is cheap.
Completely agree. The are good makes of car, and there are great makes - Lancia is undoubtedly a great one like (for different reasons) Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Bentley.

I Just wish I hadn't sold my mint, unmodified, one lady owner (prior to me) Dealers Collection in 2004 for £7000.......

Ouch!

Mind you, 10 years worth of maintenance, insurance and road tax all adds up.

So hard to predict car values, it really wasn't long ago that we were in the grip of a very nasty and enduring recession, things have only picked up dramatically in the last few years. Everything seems so obvious in hindsight. A family member sold an unused DB6 to a friend less than 10 years ago for about £20k. The new owner then became terminally ill so the wife and I bought it back off him for £65k. Pretty cheeky but he was thinking of his kids inheritance etc, this was no time for hard-ball haggling. It turned out it needed a huge amount of work done so we sold it to another family friend for the same amount. I can remember the relief at getting out of that one alive. Works Service wanted £200k to restore it!!! Of course now, after so many years of living in the shadow of its movie star predecessor, the value of DB6s has shot up more than any other Aston. With the numbers that survive and the potentially vast increase in demand in the far east it's looking like the best investment I ever got rid of. General rule of thumb seems to be to buy whatever I'm selling!

I did wonder. I bet there's a totally unreasonable premium for it being ex-Harry Metcalfe. As it happens there are two other yellow Evo2's for sale at £34k and £32k respectively.

I was very keen to see the 23,000 mile 16v that had just been imported from Japan but someone put a deposit on it before I had a chance to view it. Seemed very good value at £12k and I happen to really like the early cars.

Finding it hard to see beyond a freshly imported Evo 6 Tommi Makkinnen at the moment. The best cars are around £13k. Or up to £16k for the lighter and rarer RS versions.

Yes, I am very tempted by a TM as well.

Have been more of an Impreza man, and would have gone for a 22b, but prices have gone through the roof, if you can find one. (have a Cosworth Impreza along with my Evo 2 at the moment, but will probably sell the Subaru in the spring. The Evo 2 will probably never be for sale!)

Evo 2! Very nice. They get cooler with every passing year.

I've been looking at an early 8V car, it looks reasonably tidy underneath (everything undersealed) but a few years down the line from a full body rebuild (apparently) there is the usual signs of rot returning-
Door skin returns
Bottom of the C pillars (wheel arch when you open the rear door)
The top of the rear wheel arch
Rear edge of the roof
Around the sun roof
I've had enough old cars in the past to expect the worst when you start to grind back the paint bubbles but whet is a professional, lasting repair likely to cost - I'm guessing £2k and a full respray.
It needs a couple of other things that I think will add up to about £500.
So what would you value the car at?
