Good luck with that. I had one as my first car at 18, a 132 2000 GLS, it was great. Would love to see another one in metallic bronze.

I know this one isn't in good condition or a manual but it looks better than the earlier models that didn't have the silver and black wheels.

The spec and value of the 132 was excellent for it's day. Shame really that it hit the UK market at the time when Fiat had a bad reputation as being rust buckets, had it not been for that I'm sure they would have sold in better numbers. One feature I remember were the side facing sun-visors that when not in use were concealed within the headlining.

Quick - relatively, and so much more upmarket than the similar vintage 131's. Poor handling?

Yeh the side Perspex sun screens were very cool !!!

Mine handled well and with twin 40's fitted it was bloody quick !!

Miss it lots but I think it's going to be a difficult task to find one !!!

Not many left at all.

I have very fond memories of a tropical orange 132 1800 ES my father owned in the late 70's.

It was a five speed manual car with brown velour, Cromadora wheels, 1978 model.

We had a Mirafiori Sport in the family too.

I'd love a go in an early 132 again, just for old times!

This has reminded me that I even planned to restore my one back in the early 90's. I got to know the parts chap at Autoyachts in Gillingham quite well and he managed to get hold of a new bonnet, new bootlid and four new doorskins. All for a very good price. Eventually he found me a new Seat bodyshell that was in a barn with a few others in Dorset.

I trailered it back home with these great plans to transfer all my parts to the new bodyshell and build an immaculate 132. After moving the parts around for a few years, life, families etc got in the way. Ended up taking the panels to the dump and the bodyshell was moved to some stables in Chislehurst. Wonder what happened to that!

Now, I wish I had persisted with it. I bought my runner (HUR 511V) with 89k miles on it for £400 in 1987. A 2 litre twin cam car with electric windows, 5 speed box, power steering, plush velour upholstery, I was 18 at the time. It got so structurally rusty; A pillars (big holes), C pillars under the vent trim and sills being patched over for MOTs, as well as 'cosmetic' rust on the doors, bootlid and bonnet despite my liberal Waxoyl spraying. It got donated to the local Fire Brigade for practice with 169k miles on it. I remember during my ownership, the differential rear cover rusting through, so it had pin holes in it, I had to park with one side on the kerb so I could get under and top up the oil. Fuel tank also got a hole in it when I got to my girlfriend's parents. Had to find another and go and replace it outside their house. Then there was a fire in the engine bay, which I put out by unhooking the windscreen washer reservoir (a rubber strap held it in) and pouring that over the fire!

I was offered a black Bellini (sp?) during my ownership, was tempted, but it had two twin choke carbs of some description, which suggested it had been meddled with, which put me off at the time.

Would definitely like to see another!

Malta and Cyprus could be a good source for RHD cars, plenty of English speakers too.

There are still a few good cars out there.
Here's mine.
Bought a year ago and slowly been tidying it up.
Still looking for door panels - if anyone knows of a set, please let me know.

Thank you
