The V6 used in the 159/Breras is actually GM/Holden sourced, although Alfa have tried to improve it. The 5 pot diesel is actually more closer a proper Alfa engine despite being diesel.

I love my 159, but finding a good one can be difficult, it will all depend if the previous owner spent a sunday afternoon waxoiling the subframe (as its an earlier one) and kept on top of the servicing/maintenance.

I cant say its had any irritating faults, the interior quality is very good, and it feels built like a tank. The main flaw with them is the upper wishbone bushes, this can easily be remidied with adjustable powerflex bushes and pro alignement.

Hi Dave these adjustable powerflex bushes, did you get them done at autolusso? or are there other places that do it as well? My old man is getting his front tyres go on the inside despite having it aligned 3-4000 miles ago. I asked my local specialist who had no idea of the problem which was a bit worrying considering how many suffer from it.

Not wishing to diss the motor but get underneath it and check Sub frame for corrosion. I spy a little brownish stuff in the wheelarch photo, which isn't the subframe but I hear there are issues with subframe corrosion on these. But at least subframes can be unbolted and replaced. 3 year warranty, if it's worth the paper it is written on sounds nice!

I fitted them myself and got them aligned at what is actually a Porsche alignment specialist. It would have been a lot easier to travel to Autolusso to be honest, the old bushes are very hard to press out the aluminium wishbones and the setup is very tricky. They will prevent the tyre wear and they sharpen up the steering feel.

Well, I've gone and done it! Fell in love almost instantly (a test drive through the peak district sealed it!). Seems in great condition and had a bunch of receipts from Alfa Workshop, so enthusiast owned.

So, after 3 months of ownership? Any feedback?

I'm seriously considering one too. I nearly chose a 159 Wagon as a company car about 6 years ago, but the small boot entrance prevented that. I've wanted one ever since. Now's the time I could exchange my BMW E46 convertible for a saloon. But I don't want a standard Eurobox.
