Bought a cheap 147 1.6 TS Lusso (03) last year for the price of a good night out. It was MOT'd till the beginning of September and it needed a few wee things fixed (sensor and wheel bearing). After that I used it every day and delighted in its overall performance and kart-like handling. Nothing fell off or broke but gradually the gearbox began to jump out of third gear on acceleration and a few lights began to come on in the dash. So dilemma time - fork out several hundred pounds or more to fix up or sell off to the local recycling centre for a little less than I paid for it. The car has 168k miles, a perfect body and is finished in a lovely shade of deep metallic blue. So there I was checking out the lovely vintage stuff on Copart when I thought to check 147 stock. There a day from auction was a beautiful 04 147 1.6 Lusso identical to mine but with a genuine 31k miles and needing a tailgate and back bumper. Got it for a very reasonable price and hope to spend Saturday swapping parts over. I also see it has a full Alfa service history and a lady doctor owner. Can't wait to get it on the road. In truth I prefer driving the 147 in preference to a year old BMW 120d XDrive.

Excellent choice smile

Put just over 42k miles on mine in just under 3 years - still think they look great now!

Great cars! I've put over 20k on mine in just over a year and a half. Still looks fresh to me and is a great drive.

I've a facelift Lusso with tan heated leather in Radicofani Red, and it's far more luxurious than any small car has a right to be.

We've had 3 x 147s over the years for the wife, always found them to be good cars once the front suspension is sorted.

Now onto a Giulietta. The wife's 6th alfa!
