HELP! Any GTVs out there?!
Discussion
I am currently looking to buy another Alfa GTV 2.0 Twin Spark, and need
your help in finding one!
I had a lovely one some 7-8 years ago (black with red leather / red dash)
that I regretfully sold... and am now on the hunt for another one!
There seems to be very few of them about... they tend to range from very
cheap/ high mileage examples to very expensive V6 ones... with very few of
the 2 litre ones about now.
Should I find the right one (reasonable mileage with decent history
including a recent cambelt) I am looking to spend up to £4k... just
wondered if anybody knew of any that are about? Or anyone planning to sell
theirs in the near future?
There are only a handful of GTVs available on Autotrader / Ebay etc and
many of them from dealers... I'd like to buy one from an enthusiast!
I look forward to hearing from anybody!!

i was thinking of adding a TS as a winter hack but they're definitely thin on the ground (in the ads at least)
V6's are getting really quite expensive now, considering what you could buy for just a couple of years ago
i do know of a proteo V6 coming up for sale soon if that might suit ? - mechanically sorted but cosmetically probably only just better than "OK" (not rusty, just unloved)

that's a lot of money, relatively speaking but i guess it's what the market will stand. TS's used to be like white goods - buy for a few hundred and throw away when the MoT ran out.
don't worry if you find the "right" car but it needs belts - many specialists now offer menu and "all in" prices which are not at all eye-watering. AforAlfa springs to mind - £300 and change on the TS; just use it as a negotiating point if no evidence of a recent change.

The search is over! I bought this one Sunday afternoon, it's got 73k on the clock- recent cambelt / suspension / brakes... Nuvola blue work teledials and aerokit, owned by the family from new in 2001.
Absolutely love it!! Slight whirring from the clutch when depressed which I think is the thrust bearing, so a new clutch is on the cards in the future but was able to negotiate the price accordingly!
