My other half has been looking for a decent Brera Spider for some time now, without success. OK, so she does not really want to spend the £12k + that some of the dealers want but for 8 - 10k some of the cars we have seen described a "mint" have turned out to be utter dogs when we get to see them (often after a long drive to get there!)

Soggy boot compartments, knocking engines, seriously dingy electrics, knackered roof mechanisms, mangled alloys, busted wheel bearings, the cheapest possible tyres fitted (a good indicator as to the mindset of the owner imho) knocking suspension and banjaxed brakes..... Oh, and don't talk to me about cam chains, tensioners, LE models that turn out not to be LE models ......arrrgggghhhh..

Who'd of thunk it would be so hard to buy a nice car!

I had the same problems when looking for a Brera S. The first one (and the worst) was a 1 owner, 30k mile minter in the advert with FARSH... and then I arrived at the dealership after a 1 hour drive to find that there wasn't a single panel without significant marks (by significant, I mean something worse than a stone chip or parking dent and more like scrapes, key scratches and dents caused by, what looked like, being kicked!).

An example in another main dealership was not even an S Prodrive as advertised, but one of the run out models with the leather dashboard etc. The salesman didn't seem to know the difference.

Funny thing about the Spiders is that I occasionally see 2-3 different examples knocking around where I live, and all 3 look immaculate... but not for sale.

Be patient and keep looking, something good will become available eventually.
