So have been thinking about getting a 1.4 TB multi air. What's the reliability like for those in the know here?

Is it the 1.4 MA engine you are referring to?
Had mine for 3 years now with 41k on the clock
Some of the first models suffered with MA unit failure, normally caused by one or more "flaps" not opening properly sending the car on limp mode.
Most cars have had this issue within the first 3 years therefore all was changed under warranty.
Either than that there are none known common issues.
Some people have reported to have bought a bit of a lemon but overall seem a good engine.
I haven't heard of any common issues on the 1750 model either, although QV owner should be able to advise better

There are some issues with the 1750, probably worth going over to Alfaowner and have a look on there (Giulietta/159 sections for both engines).

Yes its the 1.4 MA. Have had a look on the Alfa forum mentioned but most of what is on there relates to the pre 2013 cars out there. Wondered what people's experiences on here were.
I keep seeing quite a lot of Giulietta's on the road recently and they are nice looking cars, but the stories of engine issues with earlier petrol models and things like squeaky seats etc has made me wonder. As a result I have narrowed my search to post 2013 registered cars.

I've had two 170 Multiairs. 60k miles in the first (one of the very first in the UK) and now on about 24k in the second. No problems at all with either. Great car, great engine.

I had a 1750 for four years and no problems with the engine. Leaking gearbox though. Had the 1.4 MA for a year now and no problems at all.

They need the correct oil. The multi air units rarely fail but when they do, it's usually oil related.
