Alfa 156 Nav Connect code unlock problem

Hi

Don't suppose anyone could help with a problem I have entering the code on a 2004 Alfa 156 Nav Connect hard unit, the one with Sat nav, phone, Bose etc. The car has had some work done to it and on it's return the stereo is asking for the code to be entered. I have the code, but unfortunately while turning the dial on the right to select the digit works ok, pushing the dial to enter the number doesn't. The stereo all worked perfectly prior to this.

I suspect someone may have tried to enter the incorrect code too many times, I don't know, but I was wondering if there is a way to reset the code system and start again from scratch. I've tried disconnecting the battery for a while but that made no difference.

Any ideas?

Have a look on Alfaowner - either someone will have a fix, and there is a big thread running where one member is generating the right codes for people.
