Picking up my Vesuvio Grey Giulia Quadrifoglio next week. Very much looking forward to its first drive through Europe the day after.

To an earlier poster concerned about being able to control themselves while driving one in poor weather, it may be best to book yourself on a driving course which can give you guidance on self control!
Best to get all the thrills at a track day. The tyre bill may control your right foot. I find I drive slower on the way home after anyway!
Enjoy. I took my Vesuvio Grey Giulia Quadrifoglio around Europe with the family, and dog, last summer. Loire, Dordogne, Provence, Monaco, Milan, Como, Leysin, Gstaad, Versailles then back to Blighty.

3,500 miles. Epic trip, epic car.

What a perfect trip! Very much looking forward to the first drive, and avoiding the autoroutes as much as possible.

Appreciate this was a test drive, however does this bother owners out there? the compromise during the winter months of not being able to give it the full beans for fear of losing the rear end. I get it is a total beast in dry weather.. but in the UK with the weather we have, how careful do you need to be?

G
I was just making the point that I deliberately wasn't giving it too much tap because of the conditions, my relative unfamiliarity with the car, and having my children in the back. I've had two test drives in QVs and it's a superb car - great feedback, superb handling and a really punchy engine. I'd be tempted to swap out the P Zero Corsas for the Michelins everyone raves about, or some dedicated winter tyres perhaps, and save the Corsas for track days, but otherwise, I don't think you need to be any more careful than you would driving any other 500bhp+ car on public roads. I think the problem is people jump into a car like this (RWD, lots of power, lightning quick steering rack) having previously owned a Clio or something and then promptly bury it in a hedge. As with any new car, it pays to break to take a bit of time getting to know its foibles before going full attack.

No!!!

And an excuse for some gratuitous shots of the car on the trip.

Do it! One of the best things I've ever done with my trousers on.

Only in Switzerland unless you want to risk a Toblerone incident.

I’m looking for advice on warranties. For cars that came with 3 years warranty from new, in the third year is the warranty tied to the supplying dealer or transferable through the Alfa dealer network. Cheers

Should be usable across the network. It's extendable too, you should be invited to extend near the end of the 3rd year....... (I'd call them because they probably won't invite you).

Very pleased with mine. 400 miles through Europe so far going well. Pirellis haven't been an issue, but I understand Michelin PS4 are the way to go. Waze is a great app for navigation using Apple Car play.

Hello all,

I've been running my Giulia here in Germany for over six months and 8000km now. Overall, I think it's fantastic, but it does have a few niggles the dealer has been unable to help with.

1. At low speeds the brakes often squeal terribly. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it happens, it's far from subtle... To date, I've been unable to figure out when it will or won't happen.

2. I have a manual gearbox, and both first and second gear can be somewhat tricky to get into. I realise the UK only has the auto, but was hoping you may have come across something on another forum.

3. On full lock the front tyres rub in the arches. The dealer insists "they all do that". Oddly, it's currently on winter tyres (Michelin PA4 in original sizes) and has stopped rubbing.

Any suggestions on any of the above?

Many thanks in advance.
Came across this post, so somewhat belated I can reply, as a manual QF owner too:

1) Unusual, mine are fine though they are CCB
2) So does mine, but this is because Alfa Romeo specifies a ridiculous thick gear oil 75W140, when ZF recommends 75W80. I had mine changed to Castrol Syntrans 75W and it is smooth as butter, huge change.
3) It is the steering geometry, most pronounced with Corsa, much less so with winter tyres. For summer tyres, the Michelin PS4S are supposed to help too.
Nice to read!
I’m on to buying a manual one aswell, come 2020. Same as on my BMW Z4M, gearbox oil makes all the difference. Shocking to see they recommend 75w140...
Also I’ll probably get a nice round/smaller aluminium knob (Richbrook etc) instead of that bulky std item. Already have one in my Alfa 75 and it’s ace.
