Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - Anyone Ordering One

It's a beautiful car, but it'll depreciate like any other 4 door Italian I expect.
My PCP deal shows gfv @ £22k after 3 years, doing 12k miles a year. That's well over 50% . The salesman gave it the "it'll be worth a lot more, don't worry" but I bought a Quattroporte new in 2006 and heard the exact same story. That went from £90k to £27k in 3 years.
I've heard order books aren't overly full either, if they start giving discounts in 6 months, that'll really screw those of us who've joined the club early.
Well as I posted a couple of weeks ago I was offered 10% straight away for a straight cash purchase after a test drive...My PCP deal shows gfv @ £22k after 3 years, doing 12k miles a year. Resisted that one and like the previous poster will let it ride for 6 months or so, not at all desperate to be the first on the block, have made my decision to buy one when the time is right and placing my bet on saving maybe £15,000 to £25,000 in a year or so.....

Oh yeah forgot about that. I suppose everyone is doing the same thing. Everyone is waiting for a few people to jump in at the start and prove it to be as good as claimed or otherwise and if so they will start piling in later. Its hard to guess the value. The Quattroporte was never going to hold good value unfortunately as its a very expensive car to run and not that exclusive in some respects. It was a luxury saloon car in a segment filled with luxury saloons which were cheaper and more reliable whether by reputation or reality. Its looks were also questionable etc.
The alfa is getting nothing but great reviews. If it turns out to be reliable and lives up to the hype and providing alfa dont start discounting too soon then I think it could en up holding value well.
Problem is that's a lot of unknowns.

I'm off to Autosport tomorrow, I'm going to drop into my old Alfa dealers.
Obviously my local dealer saw me coming.
No,the party line is there should be zero discount unless you currently own an Italian You can get £1k off with a fiat group logbook. Any additional is dependent on who you know. Dealers only have a very small margin to play with on the QV and now the price increase is in force I think any existing orders will struggle to push a discount as there is a long waiting list of people in tow. But, as I said above, it's who you know Obviously my local dealer saw me coming.

Had a lovely brochure delivered by the postie today
Nice quality.
They have sent some nice things - I've had a brushed stainless steel keyring which is lovely. Nice quality.
just need the key to attach to it now!
JC did appear to love the QV despite being too fat to get in and out - I had heard a rumour that one of the first batch is going to him.
I hired a diesel Giulia for a week in Spain. I'm the same height as Clarkson, but not as fat. I had zero trouble getting in and out of the car. Unless he has unnaturally short legs and has the seat rammed forward, he was making it up.
Someone mentioned the integrated screen in the dash - a master stroke, I anticipate the Germans frantically copying it.
The diesel was a bit rubbish - not as good as my 2.4 159 (or 2.4 156 for that matter). Autobox was fantastic. Car looks excellent. If I actually needed a car I'd seriously consider buying one, but I have too many cars already.
I'm hoping they sell like hot cakes so I can pick one up in 5 years or so. I slight worry about the longevity of a 2.9 power plant knocking out 500 HP.

As with all newly released top of the range cars discounts are had to get, but I also think that in 6-9 months it will be a good time to start negotiating, and luckily it falls in line with when it becomes viable to get rid of my 6 series. So I will likely wait until August / September.
The M3 / M4 have shocking residuals, so expect similar with the Alfa. It's pretty easy to get 15-18% on an M4 CP so it makes the M4 the cheaper car to buy. BMW FS and the dealer are discounting the car. Not sure if the discounts have properly started on the C63 but I've not seen any decent deals like I did with the last Coupe (which I owned).
I am pretty ruthless with deals and will buy either an M4 / C63 or Alfa QF based on the best possible deal. Having said that my heart is with the Alfa - it's epic, but I want to ensure the best possible deal!!
