Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - Anyone Ordering One
Discussion
I'm very tempted by one of these to replace my F10 M5 but was worried it might feel a bit slow.
Now I've seen that Nurburgring lap I don't think I need to worry, over 20 seconds faster!

Anybody been to a launch event yet? Worth going? I've a slot booked for Saturday but I'm in two minds if I'm going.
I'm starting the slow process of deciding what I want next and the Giulia is up against the Alpina B4 as I want something different from a M4/C63.
How does one get invited to these events? I have put my name down online and registered interest etc...?I'm starting the slow process of deciding what I want next and the Giulia is up against the Alpina B4 as I want something different from a M4/C63.

So I went yesterday. The event was held in a small warehouse and you were taken in timed groups through a preset walk through the company's history and the tech behind the Giulia. At the end of the walk you had the big reveal of the Giulia.
Then you could spend as much time as you wanted with the car. They had three Giulia's, two being QFs in the premium red the other was a standard model. One had the normal seats and the other had the carbon seats. I would really recommend the carbon seats, they felt sporty and have a bit more room in the back.
The standard car looked tiny compared to the QF. They also had a M3 to compare against. QF also sounds amazing in race mode. Next step for me is to get a test drive.

I Posted these on the other thread but I figure I will put them here as well...
Now annoying this below pic shows two of the three "finishing" touches which I feel let the car down in comparison to the M3 they had there. First up against the bulkhead you can see the two struts for chassis suspension. They should have been carbon fibre as they detract from the visual of the engine bay.
Second you can see the wing mirrors and the nasty plastic that attaches them to the car which does not look very premium at all.
Rear Seats in carbon seated car. Not the greatest pic as they some stupid strobing lights which my camera could not cope with..

Those a very very very small things - 1 you will hardly if ever see and the other can easily be changed if you are really annoyed by it. The more I see of the car the more I really like it - in fact love it

Hey !!! You were there half an hour before me. I parked up and went for breakfast in a little workers caf up the road before going to the event and then after the event considered eating all the free biscuits which were delicious. Then you could spend as much time as you wanted with the car. Don't get me wrong. They are absolutely no reason not to choose one of these over an M3. I like the M3 (merc and audi would not get a look in as both are rather bland as drivers cars and visually). If I could justify one I would have placed an order on the day unfortunately I cannot presently do so.The more I see of the car the more I really like it - in fact love it
It is a fantastic piece of kit. Totally different to the germans. 5.5k for Carbon brakes, 2.5 for carbon seats and I think about 1k for the upgraded 900w sound system. Very few other options needed. The one with carbon seats was listed at 71.5k iirc and had the carbon brakes and most of the options and I think would be the one to go for.

Yeah they and the free coffee were pretty, pretty, pretty good!Anybody manage to snag a test drive of a UK car yet from a dealer? I was hoping they'd sort that out on Saturday.

Just had a look on the configurator and to be honest you would struggle to go above 71k on one of these. I specified pretty much every option other than the tricolour paint and came out at £70.250
Its actually very comparable in price to the bmw m3 if you spec them similar. It has to be said though that the bmw would be an issue for me as it has a huge options list and a lot of them are things I would want such as head up display (not need), electric blinds and so on and I expect with the spec I would want it would push the price up towards 76-77k.
