Yep, for an open valved exhaust 100% of the time you need to be in Race mode. I did test where the exhaust opens in dynamic and I think its just before 4krpm. You can have the exhaust mapped to be open all the time in dynamic if you fancy. Not sure why you'd want it open all the time as when in dynamic it's open a lot of the time anyway. Only really closes when you're not on the fizz.

Just not sure of the exterior - I think it should be the comp red, wife wants something else but not white, and as it's a daily drive I won't have black.
Saw the blue, and it looked not overly metallic, so that leaves grey and silver...

In response to discounts, been told that Alfa have changed the way the dealers are paid for the QV, there is far less margin in them for the car now. Apparently Alfa are trying to keep residuals high on the car and starting to remove the myth of huge depreciation.
The price increased (base) to 61 in January, so 56 might have been achievable last year (providing you didn't spec the car any higher) but not sure that is now. I got 1k discount for being an Alfa owner and a good trade in deal on the 4C so although no discount on base (or options...!) but happy.
Apparently mine is on a boat to the UK. Where, they are not sure....

It might end up driving second hand prices on alfas, which is bad for me personally, but if Alfa ever wants to be able to become a true mainstream brand again they need to shake the high depreciation, that'll get more non-alfisti on board, both private sale and lease.
Lease companies are running scared - I originally saw headline costs on par with the M3 (£700-800pm) but having contacted a couple, like for like terms , cost of car etc put the Alfa at £1100 pm.
That won't get anyone new into an Alfa.
It's now a toss up between one of these and another M3 for us, having discounted all the other opposition.
The problem I see is paying list now when there's no saying there'll be no discounting 6 months down the line.
Those that paid full list for the M3 when they came out (and the M135i) must be stinging now you can get £10k off one.

Id imagine the M5 must be a real barging now.. if there are any left. £20k was being offered off list bringing them down to 53k last year...That won't get anyone new into an Alfa.

Sweet Jesus, drove one of these yesterday and loved it.
They have really nailed the ride, steering and handling!
I was so impressed, the steering was very lively, fast to change direction, the whole car felt very agile, yet the ride was actually very good!
The engine was somehow not quite as impressive as I thought it would be, but the big paddles and gearbox seemed very good.
Brakes seemed a bit snatchy (steel ones) and the infotainment system is certainly no I-drive.
The dealer I went to had a demo one for £57500 or so.

I believe the price on the demonstrator is an illustration of what that spec would cost - Alfa dealers are not going to be allowed to sell the demo´s that arrived before the pre-ordered customer cars were delivered apparently. Difficult to decide between snapping up a dealer demo one, registered november 16 and a new one...
A new one will have higher road tax, but you can't help but wonder if they might have resolved teething issues.
The demo has the spec I want bar Harmon Kardon. Anyone heard the standard system?
