"Carbon s/w" is the optional alcantara & leather (with carbon fibre inserts) steering wheel, as opposed to the standard leather one.

Collecting mine Saturday.

Showroom car so no say in spec but it's comp red, black teledials, greens stitching, elec setas and carbon s/w.

Not even driven one so here's hoping it's as good as everybody says !
Enjoy! Just clicked 1000 miles in mine today, and slowly opening it up more and more now. You'll love it. What are carbon "s/w" btw?

Like Sixspeed am contemplating some enhacments....

Software flash available to make the exhaust full bore in Dynamic mode seems a no brainer and anoher 40/5bhp from a stage 1 map, both available for £400 apparently which seems great value/disconcertingly cheap.

Have also spoken to Tubi about an exhaust but not cheap for full system - race cats £2100, middle section £700 and back boxes £1700 all plus VAT.

Lastly the car has standard audio system and so I'll be looking in to speaker and amp upgrades.
You've not even driven one yet! LOL

I've had similar quotes for my software map, but with a full turbo-back system with sports cats, will be looking closer to a 70-80bhp increase.

I know but I know Ii will want it louder and faster smile

Can I ask which exhaust system you are considering ?

I had a test drive of the car this week - wow, it is stunning.
I would say a step up from the M2/M4 i was considering.
The performance is epic, but it was the steering and the general "feel" that made it special.
And those upshifts in race mode.....!

Hehe, fair enough!

It is a full system, turbo back, with sports cats. It'll be valved like the standard system (and the Tubi). It's a well-known manufacturer that is doing the work, and using my Giulia QF as a development vehicle. I've just agreed all the details and the car is going in on the 19th April, and will be back in time for a trip to the Nurburgring with the car on the 29th. Once the system is finished I'll get some photos and videos up online pretty quick, and probably have some idea of pricing to share.

Ahh, doh! Steering wheel, of course. silly Yes, I spec'd the same wheel on my car, but couldn't think what he was referring to (could only think of the carbon seats, and ceramics!)

A few thoughts after having mine for 2 weeks and 550 miles.

I've enjoyed the exhaust permanently on open like in race mode, a nice bark to it but no drone on the motorway. The only real downside is that tractor like startup sound for about 20 seconds on cold start up, but I've had other cars that are similar.

Leaving the car in Dynamic and auto can be a lot of fun as it really bangs down the gears by itself, making all sorts of noises.

I like driving it in "manual" on the paddles too, although I find 2nd gear is so much shorter than I'm used to compared to another ZF8 car I had. It's also hard to judge where the rev limiter is, the engine is very smooth and doesn't change note that much at the top of the rev range. As a result it just use 3rd more and lean on the torque.

The handling, steering and ride continue to be a revelation, and the acceleration is also plenty savage enough for me!

Its a great car to drive at night, the dials light up in a nice way and the lights are really good.

This car is probably the easiest to speed in car I have ever driven, the power combined with the relative refinement can catch you out! I manage to drive a 2010 C63 and 2015 RS6 more accurately to speed limits somehow.

It might also be due to the fact that the alfa's speedo has a ridiculous scale where 30mph and 60mph are right at the bottom, i think it's in even increments to 200mph, unlike the Germans which have diffrent increments higher up the scale?

This is sorted by using the digital speedo, but sometimes you want to use that for other stuff such as nav.... The digital speedo also dissapears in race mode! Not ideal!!!

Other concessions are that it's only a 4 seater and you can't put the seats down, a bit of a shock if you're used to a hatch or estate.

Overall I'm loving it!!!

Nice write up Gus.
The fixed back seats is a tad annoying, if like me, you cycle and surf.

You can specify split folding rear seats in all other variants of the Giulia. Just not the Quadrifoglio.

Amazing that the septics get the split fold and 5 seat option for the QF. Surely the wider seats option is better for them, not more seats??

The race mode / lack of digital speedo thing is a mystery to me. I'm convinced that of all the modes this is the one where you'd want the digital speedo. Not some difficult to observe shift light pattern. That's what the rev limiter is for. The speedo is too small on the lower speeds to use on the hoon / track which is why a big digital one is ideal.

Otherwise, I'm loving mine too smile

I am confused by the lack of folding rear seats or at least through load for the QF.
I am consolidating 3 cars to get into a QF - so it needs to be all things... annoying that I can't put my surfboards in becuase of the backseat thing....
I understand why it needs to be fixed for rigitity, etc, not an issue in the FF/GTC4 which can fold the back seat though....!

Just get some roof racks and slow down... :-) Or get surfboards with curved noses lay them face down on roof racks and use them for extra downforce during an attempt to beat the ring lap time.

Roof rack is an option yeah - wondered how that might work with a carbon roof though??

Is anyone else finding the traction control rather un-lenient in Dynamic mode?

It cuts in fairly smoothly, but I wish it would allow just a bit more slip.

If you try and nail it after pulling out of a junction, whilst straight etc it will often pull power in 2nd gear.

Race mode solves the problem in this weather, but not ideal to resort to that all the time.

Yes, I find the car relatively sluggish low down in Dynamic mode, doesent feel anywhere near a sub 4 second car to 60 in that setting.

You have to feed the power in. The TC is a little OTT in dynaminc but with a bit of right foot control you can keep the power coming without upsetting the management.

Feeding the power in! what's that!?

Yes, I see what you mean, it does go better if you drive it properly.

I'm not used to TC doing it's job so well.

I did manage to get her to spin up a little in 2nd or 3rd today though smile
